This will be a USA Triathlon sanctioned, first class event put on by triathletes for triathletes, featuring top-notch race shirts, tasty post-race food and distinctive awards.
A 500 meter open water swim, followed by a fast 9.5 mile bike ride, and a 5K run featuring a loop around the Promontory Point Park will make for a perfect event for those who have always wanted to “tri” a triathlon and an excellent test for the seasoned competitor. This is open to competitors of all ages.
We will be hosting the 2013 Junior Championship, for triathletes 16 to 23 years of age, who will compete on the full Greeley Triathlon course. The Championship will be a mass swim start, non-drafting event. Awards will be presented to two age groups: 16 to 19 year old participants and 20 to 23 year old participants.
And, the 2013 race will feature a separate 13-15 year old age category race, which will consist of a 250 meter swim, 6 mile bike and a 1.5 mile run. They will also compete in a mass swim start with non-drafting rules. All on our athlete and spectator friendly course.
All competitors in the "normal" age group race will begin with a time trial swim start (see the Race Info section).
The Greeley Triathlon Club is organizing and putting on the race. Everything will be done to insure an enjoyable experience for all participants.

"The Greeley Triathlon is one of the best t riathlons I have ever been associated with in the last 20 years. Safety, great course, proper distances, good awards, clean water to swim in, good weather, lots of volunteers and a friendly race team. My wish is that the RMR support races like this in the future and they become a standard in the RMR and the rest of the US for excellence. Congratulations to all those involved.!!!" |
